    Growth Groups

We have nine Growth Groups that meet in homes in Eyam, Foolow and some of the surrounding villages. Two are women’s groups that meet in the day time. The remaining seven are mixed groups that meet on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings.

Our vision for Growth Groups is that they are safe places where we study the bible, share the ups and downs of life, pray together and encourage one another to grow as disciples of Jesus. We trust that within the groups, relationships will grow, we will nurture one another’s gifts, care for one another, laugh together and make space for new people. We also like to eat together! All our groups will offer you a warm welcome, some great cakes and biscuits and the chance to grow as part of a Christian community.

If you would like to join a group please contact John and Helen Gilbert, the co-ordinators. You can call or text Helen or email us and we will help you find a group that suits you.

    Prayer at Eyam Church

Prayer is an integral part of everything we do here at Eyam Church. It is how we communicate with God. We thank him, praise him, ask him for help with the big things and the little things and we listen to him. He is our Father and our Guide. We pray on our own and we pray together in lots of different ways.

    Prayer Ministry

We have a team of people authorised to pray for individuals during and after services. We seek to bring healing and wholeness of body, mind and spirit through the touch of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. We love praying and anyone wanting prayer ministry at other times can arrange this through the Rector.

    Prayer Meetings

Sundays: 10.30am - 10.50am, prayer room (ex-choir vestry) in church)

First Saturday of the month: 10am - 11am, Church Centre

We believe collective prayer is one of those things that builds unity of heart and purpose. Everyone is welcome. From time to time we hold half and full nights of prayer or 24/7 prayer days.

  • Bible Course from The Bible Society

We believe the Bible is inspired by God; it shows us His plan of salvation and how He wants us to live. We therefore want to help everyone understand it for themselves more and more deeply. Sometimes it can appear to be a confusing book, so we try to run the Bible Course (prepared by the Bible Society) on a regular basis. The bible’s “big story” and how it all fits together are explained over eight weeks. In each session there are videos, times for group discussion and personal reflection. The course handbook also has suggested daily bible readings to help everyone prepare for the next week’s teaching. The course is designed to be accessible to new Christians as well as to those who have been walking with Jesus for a long time.

Our next course starts (with coffee and cake of course!) on Sunday 11th May at 7.00 p.m. in our Church Centre (just to the right of our Church building on the main street in Eyam). It runs for eight weeks, omitting the Bank Holiday weekend Sunday (25th May) so will finish on Sunday 6th July.

Everyone is warmly invited. If you would like to come please contact us through admin@eyamchurch.org.
