Visit our historic Church

  • It is a privilege to welcome schools to Eyam Church and we hope your visit is both educational and enjoyable. All school visits MUST be booked in advance. Please click here to visit our section on School Visits for all the information you need and the booking form.

  • We would love to welcome you to the historic St Lawrence’s Church. We have a large number of visitors each year so it is essential that if you are a School or Coach party you book in advance.

    People on the Peak or Hope Pilgrimages will find a visitors book and photographic memento available in the Church near the candle stand. If you want further information about the Pilgrimage walks or to buy a book please visit the Peak Pilgrimage website.

    Visits are a recommended donation of £2.50 per person.

    To book, please complete the booking form at the bottom of this page. Only booked visits can be guaranteed entry.

    Talks can be arranged on Tuesday or Thursday mornings for an additional donation of £2.50 per person.

    You are also welcome to hire our Church Centre next to the Church for lunch, at £25 per hour. Food and drink cannot be consumed inside the Church itself.

  • We welcome responsible visitors to our Village and Church. Please use the allocated car park on Hawkhill Road, follow the Countryside Code and remember to take your rubbish home with you. There is also a public toilet on Hawkhill Road.

    Church opening times – 9am to 4pm (closed in adverse weather)
     

    SUMMER (Easter to the end of September) 9am to 6pm 
    There is usually a Steward on duty in Summer to help with your visit.

  • How do I find Eyam Church and is there parking?

    Please find a map below for Eyam Church. There is on-street parking, limited parking at the Church Centre (narrow access unsuitable for coaches) and an additional car park on Hawkhill Road, a 5-minute walk from the Church.

    Is there accessible access to Eyam Church?

    Yes, Eyam Church is accessible. Please enter the churchyard via the central path, right-hand side gate or from the Church Centre. If you need help with the steps into Church we have ramps in the porch. 

    Can we eat and drink in the Church?

    No, food and drink may not be consumed in the Church building. However, we have many cafes in our village and offer hire of the Church Centre for £25 per hour if you would like somewhere to eat and drink as part of your visit.

    I can’t get in - is the Church locked?
    Please see above for our opening times when the Church will be open for you. The main Church door can be stiff so please twist the door handle to the right and push.
